Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Test Engineer to support NSWC Crane programs, planning, executing, and documenting tests for unmanned systems in complex environments. You will collaborate with engineers, scientists, and government stakeholders to ensure performance and mission readiness.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field, 7 years of experience, and DoD T&E experience. Active Secret clearance is required; Master’s degree or PhD preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field; 7 years of experience in the field or related area.
• DoD T&E experience for hardware/software systems.
• Ability to design test plans, TPSs, engineer test beds, execute tests and document results.
• Experience with T&E of sensor, EW, or C-UxS technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and execute test plans, procedures, and cases for unmanned systems and components.
• Support test and evaluation activities across the development lifecycle, including field testing.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Collect, reduce, and analyze test data; prepare clear test reports.
• Coordinate with government customers and program staff to schedule test events and ensure safety.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and results per requirements.
• Support risk identification and communicate findings to leadership.
• Prepare technical briefings and test readiness/review materials.
