Job summary

The Train Doctor in Eatontown, NJ is seeking a full-time model train repair technician. You will diagnose and repair trains and related components in a climate-controlled shop, with your own bench and integrated tools, while supporting thousands of parts to speed repairs.

Experience with TMCC, Legacy, DCS and DCC systems is preferred. The role emphasizes neat work, strong troubleshooting, quick learning, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of experience repairing electro-mechanical and electronic devices.
• Proficient with hand tools, soldering, adhesives, drilling.
• Be a quick learner to transfer repair & troubleshooting skills to model trains.
• Be focused on quality work to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize comebacks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair customer trains and related components.
• Service and restore vintage equipment to proper operating condition.
• Troubleshoot modern electronic systems and control boards.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Assist with repair intake and quality control testing as needed.
