The Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist - Mobility Manager in Health Administration Service at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Tampa oversees Veterans Transportation Service and Beneficiary Travel programs, ensuring safe and reliable patient transport and contract management.

The role includes leading staff, coordinating with state and local agencies, analyzing performance, and directing budget and resources to expand transportation access for Veterans in the Medical Center

Responsibilities

Oversee the Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) and Beneficiary Travel (BT) programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
Serve as the Contracting Officer Representative for transportation contracts, including common carrier, SMT, ambulance, and air ambulance.
Coordinate with state Veterans and Transportation Agencies and local providers to expand transportation networks.
Manage the Veterans Transportation Program (VTP) ensuring safe, reliable transportation for Veterans to and from VA facilities and non-VA appointments.
Plan, develop, evaluate, and direct administrative activities related to transportation for Veterans, active duty service members, in metro and rural areas.
Develop and submit performance reports, manage budgets, and advise HAS service line management on transportation matters.
Supervise staff, set performance expectations, evaluate performance, and provide coaching and counseling as needed.
