Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking an experienced technician to service a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks. You will perform standard and complex mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics with minimal supervision to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

This role includes mobile repairs and may require driving to customer sites. A valid Driver's License, ASE certification(s), and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License; Class A/B/C CDL may be required depending on location.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in a mechanical shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks.
• Includes preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
• Role includes mobile repair; may travel to vehicle locations to diagnose and resolve issues.
• May also be required to drive Budget Trucks on public roads for repair or transport needs.
• Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers using diesel and medium-duty expertise to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
