Job summary

Avis Budget Group is hiring an experienced technician to perform mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks. The role includes mobile diagnostics and on-site service to keep vehicles safe and on the road.

You will work with newer vehicles across multiple brands, leveraging diesel/medium-duty expertise. A valid CDL may be required by location, and on-site presence is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs and diagnostics on medium-duty or heavy-duty equipment
• At least 1 ASE certification with ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a mechanical shop environment with moderate noise levels
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive and diesel repair
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and driving vehicles
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• This position requires regular on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
• Previous OEM experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
• Valid Driver’s License Class A, B, or C; CDL may be required depending on location

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks with minimal technical supervision.
• This includes preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
• This role includes mobile repair responsibilities and may require driving to the vehicle’s location to diagnose and resolve the problem.
• Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers, applying diesel and medium-duty expertise to reduce downtime and support customer experience.
