Job summary

FleetPride is seeking a Mobile Technician III to lead preventative maintenance and advanced repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will diagnose complex issues, train other technicians, and work in-shop between calls. On-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications include 7+ years in class 7 and 8 truck repair, diagnostic and welding capabilities, and a high school diploma or GED. CDL is preferred; tools and safety are paramount.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Diesel Technology certificate/degree is a plus, but not required.
• 7+ years of experience repairing class 7 & 8 trucks and trailers.
• Diagnostic experience.
• Training experience.
• Welding experience.
• Air Brake Certified.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction(s).
• Provide preventive maintenance solutions as appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity.
• Train new service shop employees on company procedures.
• Inspect orders for completion and quality before delivery to customers.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes across systems.
• Test drive vehicles and use proper diagnostic equipment.
• Troubleshoot suspension, electrical, exhaust, steering, A/C, PTO and exhaust systems.
• Adjust, remove and replace clutches and drivelines.
• Overhaul and repair diesel and gasoline engines.
• Repair fuel tanks, fifth wheels, trailer hitches, and frames.
• Perform tandem alignment and king pin repairs.
• Carry out basic welding on aluminum and steel.
• Review service stories to determine required tasks for timely completion.
• Prepare surfaces for finish work and promote quality.
