Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our mobile radiology unit in Red Bluff, CA. This part-time role operates on Fridays for 8-10 hours, supporting patient registration, scheduling, and frontline customer service during visits.

You will help patients understand procedures, collect payments, verify insurance, and assist with documentation across multiple systems. A CPR certification and a high school diploma are required, with occasional local travel to support other sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Local travel may be required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer phone calls professionally.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions.
• Transport patients within the mobile unit as needed.
• Assist in preparing and filing patient records and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock supplies.
