Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit in Red Bluff, CA. This part-time role runs on Fridays for 8-10 hours, focusing on delivering excellent patient care and streamlined registration, insurance verification, and documentation.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, registering them in systems, answering calls, transporting patients, and providing post-procedure instructions, all while maintaining organized records and HIPAA compliance. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance as needed.
• Answer calls professionally and collect time-of-service payments when required.
• Provide patient instructions before/after procedures and HIPAA compliant handling.
• Support clinical staff with documentation and image delivery.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and schedule/confirm appointments.
• Register patients and verify insurance/authorizations.
• Transport patients between areas and assist with transfers.
• Maintain clean, stocked work area and order supplies as needed.
• Document patient visits accurately in EHR and paper records.
• Assist in preparing medical records for physicians and staff.
