Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician to keep restaurants safe and reliable by performing scheduled maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen systems, and building components across an assigned market.

You will travel to multiple sites, diagnose issues, complete work orders on mobile, and collaborate with MSC leadership to minimize downtime while upholding Whataburger standards. This role offers a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to travel locally and long distances for worksites.
Working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen and facility equipment.
Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Whataburger MVR standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely work on ladders and rooftops.

Responsibilities

Support an average of 40-45 restaurants.
Work an average of 42 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Complete routine maintenance tasks, service calls, and cosmetic repairs to maintain brand standards and support daily operations.
Perform basic troubleshooting and inspections to identify potential issues early, escalating complex or major repairs as needed.
Execute and manage assigned maintenance work orders accurately and on time using mobile technology and work order systems, in alignment with service level expectations.
Respond to restaurant maintenance needs and service requests to help minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
Maintain parts inventory, tools, and a clean, organized work environment, including company vehicle.
