Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required).
• Must have a current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; a vehicle in good working condition.
• Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using vacutainer and syringe techniques.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations.
• Maintains sterile, sanitary conditions and adheres to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by dispatcher.
• Unloads phlebotomy tray and collects samples at patient bedside.
• Identify patient before collecting specimens and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Reloads equipment and supplies for timely delivery.
• Communicate with dispatcher to report status and location.
• Maintain time records and follow safety precautions at all times.
