Job summary

Diagnostic Laboratories & Radiology is seeking a phlebotomist to travel to client facilities, primarily nursing homes, to collect blood samples. The role requires accurate patient identification, proper specimen labeling, and strict adherence to PHI and safety policies.

The ideal candidate holds current licensure where required, CPT/Phleb Level 1 certification, and strong English communication skills. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential for daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must have current clinical licensure as required by the state.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to laboratory work.
• Proficient phlebotomy skills including venipuncture and tourniquet use.
• Must hold CPT/Phleb Cert - Level 1 or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Drive to client facilities (nursing homes) using personal vehicle as directed.
• Follow phlebotomy procedures to obtain blood samples.
• Identify patients accurately prior to drawing blood.
• Label specimens correctly with requisitions and billing info.
• Maintain PHI and transport policies compliant with company rules.
• Plan draws and maintain neat, accurate logs and time sheets.
• Coordinate with dispatch, payroll, lab, and courier teams.
• Keep equipment in good working order and report issues promptly.
• Be available on-duty and respond to dispatch with current availability.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Area Phlebotomy Supervisor.
