Genie Matthews and Associates is hiring a Phlebotomist in Imperial, CA, with a float assignment to nearby areas. The role runs 6AM–6PM weekdays, on a contract basis for about 3 months with potential to become permanent. A clean driving record and reliable transportation are required.

Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients is requested, plus a certification and venipuncture proficiency. Mileage expenses are paid, and benefits are available.

Formación

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles and understand physicians' orders.
• Match requisition forms to tubes, label, centrifuge, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and label containers correctly for transport.
• Attend OSHA/DEP trainings and follow regulations; respond to inquiries over the phone.
• Answer telephone calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
