Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for the mobile unit in Port Townsend, WA. This part-time role involves greeting patients, handling registrations, scheduling appointments, and ensuring accurate documentation in electronic records.

Responsibilities include insurance verification, patient transport, and assisting clinical staff while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records. A high school diploma and CPR certification are required; a valid driver's license may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for mobile radiology.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.
• Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• Collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility when applicable.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and prepare medical records for physicians and patients.
