Job summary

Akumin is seeking a part-time Patient Coordinator for our Eaton Rapids Medical mobile unit. The role focuses on delivering excellent patient service, handling registration, insurance verification, and coordinating care in a fast-paced mobile imaging setting.

You will assist with patient transport, provide pre- and post-procedure instructions, and maintain organized records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. This position emphasizes strong communication and multitasking across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance coverage or obtain prior authorization.
• Answer calls professionally and collect any time-of-service payments as needed.
• Prepare medical records and ensure accurate documentation of patient visits.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with clinical staff for patient flow.
