Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit serving Salinas Valley and Sutter Santa Cruz. This part-time role focuses on patient registration, greeting patients, and ensuring clear understanding of procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and HIPAA-compliant records.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, CPR certification (before hire for mobile unit), and strong customer service abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology and Oncology.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work at multiple locations with local travel.
• CPR certification is a plus for Fixed Radiology.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect time-of-service payments.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
