UMMA Health in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Mobile Optometry Assistant to join our mobile program. The role requires preparing patients, operating diagnostic equipment, and coordinating tele-optometry sessions with remote optometrists.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and ideally experience in optometry or medical assisting. English/Spanish bilingual abilities are strongly preferred, and the position may involve driving the mobile unit as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a healthcare training program preferred.
• Experience with optometry, ophthalmology, or medical assisting preferred.
• Comfortable using computers, EHR, imaging systems and telehealth.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for tele-optometry examinations.
• Operate diagnostic and imaging equipment.
• Assist with telehealth connections and patient flow.
• Maintain patient privacy and clinical environment.
• Support driving the mobile optometry vehicle when needed.
