Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Mobile Mechanic for our Millville Quarry in Millville, WV. You will maintain and repair heavy mobile equipment used to extract, transport, and move aggregate materials.

Expect to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues, perform preventative maintenance, welding, and fabrication, and keep detailed maintenance records in a fast-paced quarry environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Field of Study Prefered: Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or related mechanical field.
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction, mining, quarry, or aggregate equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, powertrain components, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing haul trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and other heavy mobile equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and hydraulic or electrical diagrams.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently.
• Commitment to safety and MSHA regulations; valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or emergency breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy mobile equipment including haul trucks, wheel loaders, excavators, dozers, and graders.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel engine issues using diagnostic tools.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production.
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, suspensions, and hydraulic/electrical components.
• Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication as needed.
• Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately and timely.
• Inspect equipment daily and identify wear or potential failures; recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following MSHA policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with operations to prioritize repairs and ensure equipment availability.
• Assist with parts inventory management and communicate material needs.
• Uphold health, safety, and environmental policies across all work areas.
