Job summary

King County Library System (KCLS) seeks an approachable Outreach Services Specialist for the Mobile Services Department. You will serve seniors and adults with disabilities via Traveling Library Center and Home Service, delivering library materials and providing reader's advisory at mobile sites.

Expect driving routes across King County, adaptive plans, data tracking, and collaboration with staff to extend equitable access to library services and materials for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED with an associate degree or equivalent in library science or related field.
• Two to four years’ experience in library operations and reader’s advisory services, and/or direct customer service.

Responsibilities

• Locate and provide library materials and reader's advisory to patrons unable to visit branches.
• Deliver, check-in and check-out materials at mobile sites using PCs/tablets.
• Drive the vehicles to various locations within the KCLS service area.
• Perform circulation routines and maintenance of materials.
• Research materials for target populations and provide recommendations.
• Load/unload carts onto vehicles and support on-site operations.
• Act as lead staff on mobile site visits and uphold library policies offsite.
