Job summary

King William County Library System seeks a senior Library Associate role to plan and facilitate library programs and coordinate volunteers. The position also includes circulation desk duties, customer service, and library account operations.

The role requires engaging with diverse patrons, public speaking to parents and children, and enforcing library policies while maintaining collections and assisting with openings and closings.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in libraries and with library systems/databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and promote programming activities with librarians and management.
• Assist with programs for young children and large events.
• Participate in off-site outreach services (daycares, schools, etc).
• Provide excellent customer service at the circulation desk and at the reference desk.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and volunteer coordination.
