Job summary

The Alameda County Library is seeking a Mobile Library Driver-Clerk to operate a Mobile Library and provide friendly public service across Alameda County. Under supervision, you will load/unload materials, drive a large vehicle, and perform clerical tasks related to circulation and outreach services.

Qualifications include a California Class B driver's license with air brake certification, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Six months’ full-time library page or higher in Alameda County.
• Six months’ full-time experience driving a vehicle of at least 18,000-pound GVW capacity.
• Valid California Class B Driver’s license with air brake certification; clean driving record for past 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Mobile Library to locations throughout Alameda County.
• Perform library clerical tasks and customer service duties.
• Lift and move heavy materials up to 75 pounds; troubleshoot basic vehicle/equipment issues.
