Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for mobile units around the Seattle area. This PRN role focuses on delivering excellent patient care, coordinating registrations, and ensuring smooth procedures in a fast-paced mobile imaging environment.

The position requires high school completion, CPR certification, and willingness to travel to multiple sites. Strong customer service, organization, and familiarity with medical terminology are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire for Mobile Radiology/Oncology roles.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and schedule appointments.
• Answer calls professionally and handle inquiries.
• Collect time-of-service payments when applicable.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization when needed.
• Perform preliminary patient screening and assist with transfers/transport.
• Prepare and deliver pre- and post-procedure instructions to patients.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and stocked supplies in mobile units.
• Document patient visits accurately in electronic and written records.
• Assist clinical staff with documentation and image delivery.
