Job summary

JBG SMITH is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to independently troubleshoot, operate, repair and maintain commercial HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems across properties in the DC area. You will follow safety guidelines and company practices while supporting tenants and property management teams.

The role requires a CFC Universal Technician certification, strong problem-solving skills, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4+ years in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, or related maintenance.
• EPA CFC Universal Technician certification.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems using appropriate tools.
• Evacuate refrigerants, perform leak tests, and replace refrigerant components per regulations.
• Operate PC and mobile devices including Internet browsers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and on a team.
• Willingness to overtime and travel between properties; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily mechanical tours to ensure safe operation of equipment and building systems.
• Adjust HVAC controls to maintain tenant comfort and lease requirements.
• Monitor automation systems, alarms, and logs; identify faults and report.
