Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado seeks a Housing Specialist to coordinate and oversee housing initiatives for crime victims, including VOCA and DVP projects. The role includes providing mobile advocacy and connecting participants with long-term housing solutions.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in human services, two years of related experience, trauma-informed care, and collaboration with housing partners. 40 hours/week, full-time, with travel to Durango and Southwest Safehouse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in human services or a related area.
• Two years of human service experience.
• Direct experience with housing and homelessness issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for housing assistance for crime victims and community partners.
• Implement Housing for Crime Victims Special Project and DVP TANF Flex Funds according to VOCA, DVP and VOA standards.
• Provide mobile advocacy and housing case management to participants.
• Coordinate lease‑up, landlord negotiations, and contracts with partner agencies.
• Maintain case notes and program documentation.
