Job summary

Ernst Concrete is seeking a skilled Mechanic to diagnose, repair and overhaul mobile equipment including CMVs. You will inspect, test and maintain machines, perform welding, lubrication, and routine servicing while documenting work in the fleet management system.

The role requires reading GPS data from a company-issued tablet, strong math skills, and adherence to safety and DOT regulations. A valid driver’s license and high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient reading, writing and speaking English.
• Proficient basic math skills (add/subtract, fractions, percentages).
• Ability to read GPS from company tablet and follow directions.
• Compliance with DOT/state regulations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Perform skilled repair using hand tools, hydraulic presses, welders, and testing equipment.
• Inspect and test parts, lubricate and perform routine maintenance.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment with hoists and tools.
• Record maintenance in fleet software and conduct road calls as needed.
