Job summary

Ernst Concrete seeks a skilled Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. You will perform skilled maintenance with tools, diagnose faults, and ensure safe operation of fleet assets.

The role requires ability to read GPS data from company tablets, adhere to safety protocols, and conduct road calls as needed. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and be willing to undergo background checks, MVR,

Qualifications

• Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Read, write and speak English.
• Pre-employment background check, MVR overview, physical/DOT and drug testing required.
• Proficiently read GPS from company issued tablet.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled repair and maintenance using hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and welding equipment.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using engine diagnostic equipment and calibration devices.
• Examine parts for damage or wear.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Inspect, test and measure completed work to meet standards.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
• Assemble gear systems and align frames and gears.
• Install bearings and maintain mobile equipment with hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
• Weld or solder broken parts using electric or gas welders.
• Record maintenance and repair information in fleet maintenance software.
• Conduct road calls for equipment, vehicles or CMVs.
