Job summary

MacQueen Equipment Group, a trusted provider of heavy trucks and environmental equipment, seeks a Heavy Truck & Equipment Field Technician for IL/MO. This role combines field independence with hands-on diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs at customer sites.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-time technician or mechanic role working on heavy-duty chassis or equipment.
Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Welding and cutting torch experience preferred.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new technologies/software systems.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs at customer locations.
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems on heavy-duty equipment.
Collaborate with the Service Manager to schedule field service calls.
Complete detailed service documentation including labor, parts usage, diagnostics, and repair summaries.
Maintain a remote parts inventory and ensure service vehicle readiness.
Travel overnight as needed, including multi-day trips.
