Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co Inc. is seeking a skilled technician to perform mechanical services on diesel equipment at customer sites or in the shop.

You will diagnose, repair, and rebuild components, and complete detailed service reports while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role requires 3+ years of heavy equipment experience, strong diagnostic abilities, and a willingness to travel with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

Requires high school education or equivalent with a technical background or vocational training in diesel equipment repair.
Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, preferably with a rental company or Caterpillar.
Strong problem solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills with basic warranty understanding.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair equipment in shop or at customer sites, including rebuilds.
Complete service reports, track time, parts, serial numbers, and equipment type.
Maintain customer satisfaction by meeting needs and time constraints while ensuring safe repairs.
Maintain vehicles, tools, and work areas in good condition and organized.
Operate safely and keep the work site clean and professional.
Ensure equipment is cleaned, greased, fluids checked, and ready for the line.
Complete shop repair orders as work is performed.
Perform service calls timely as directed by shop lead and coordinators.
Keep deadlines, service lines, and staging areas organized.
Follow directions from managers and lead mechanics.
Tag equipment before placing in the ready line.
Store equipment/vehicles properly when not in use.
Complete special assignments from management promptly.
