Job summary

General Equipment & Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Resident Field Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment at customer sites. The role requires traveling with a company vehicle, providing high-quality service, and upholding safety standards.

Work may include overtime and overnight travel based on customer needs. The technician will document work orders, manage parts information, and communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered heavy construction equipment.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record; Class A CDL or ability to obtain.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote field service environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance with company and customer safety policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs, maintenance, and preventive maintenance with minimal direct supervision.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to OEM specifications and quality standards.
• Test, inspect, and evaluate major machine systems to identify failures and required repairs.
• Document labor, parts, materials, and repair details in company systems and work orders.
• Assist with parts and inventory management to support inventory control and replenishment.
• Build and maintain professional relationships by providing exceptional customer service and clear repair recommendations.
