Job summary

CAPS & Maple City, an organization dedicated to healthy, safe, and thriving families, seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) to join a cross-disciplinary care team. The MA will provide patient care, support the medical team, and drive the mobile health unit (MHU) to events following MHU protocol.

Responsibilities include vaccines, labs, blood draws, data entry, and HIPAA-compliant patient privacy. Strong bilingual (Spanish/English) communication and EMR proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree or equivalent preferred.
• One-year certificate or 3–6 months related experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in cross-cultural settings is desirable.
• Proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel) and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain accurate data in electronic health records and protect patient privacy per HIPAA.
• Support the mobile health unit operations at events and assist with setup/tear-down.
• Operate the mobile unit and use EMR in patient care.
• Administer vaccines and labs, perform blood draws and related procedures.
• Communicate with patients and coordinate with the care team.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals.
