Job summary

Automotive Technology Experts (ATE) is seeking a Field Mechanic Technician to deliver high-quality mechanical, diagnostic, and ADAS services at Crash Champions locations and with partners. This role combines mechanical repair with advanced diagnostics and calibration, requiring travel in a company vehicle and strong OEM/system knowledge.

The position emphasizes safety, documentation, and customer service, with ongoing training and the potential for career advancement within the ATE network.

Qualifications

• 4+ years automotive mechanical experience with amplified scope beyond calibration-only roles.
• Must complete I-CAR PL3 and schedule ASE within 90 days of hire.
• Strong knowledge of light/moderate repair, ADAS, electrical systems, diagnostics, programming, and calibrations.
• Experience with suspension, brakes, HVAC, dash removal, air bag installation, and post collision inspections.
• Ability to diagnose and repair SRS systems per OEM standards.
• Proficient with multimeters, power probes, and resistors.
• Ability to program vehicle modules using factory or approved software.
• EV/Hybrid high voltage certification preferred or obtainable.
• Clear communication in verbal/written form; proficient with OT/ service docs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fast and accurate ATE service support to customers and partners.
• Travel daily to service locations in a company provided vehicle.
• Perform diagnostics, scanning, programming, calibrations, electrical work, and mechanical repairs.
• Carry out suspension, brakes, HVAC, dash removal, air bag installation and related tasks.
• Conduct engine, drivetrain, cooling system, and post collision inspections per OEM standards.
• Diagnose and address SRS components per manufacturer guidelines.
• AD​AS diagnostics/calibrations when trained/authorized.
• Perform module programming, coding, initialization and safety resets.
• Document services, scan reports, and final billing per MCP guidelines.
• Provide excellent customer service and manage difficult situations with professionalism.
• Maintain tools, PPE, and vehicles; stay current on required training.
