Job summary

SOUTHWEST LIFT & EQUIPMENT, INC is seeking a full-time Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, repairs, and installations of lifts and heavy equipment. Travel throughout Arizona with occasional overnight trips to support customers in Southern California.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues, reading manuals and wiring diagrams, and providing professional customer service. Valid driver's license required; MSHA Part 48 preferred.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily field assignments.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and working around heavy equipment.
• Occasional travel up to one week at a time, 3-4 times per year.
• Punctuality and reliability; ability to work assigned days.
• Ability to work overtime as needed; comfortable with travel to schools, gov’t facilities, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy-duty shop equipment.
• Install and commission new equipment.
• Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and control-system issues.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and service documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommendations.
• Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable industry standards.
• Work independently while supporting other technicians and the Southwest Lift team.
• Travel throughout Arizona and occasionally into Southern California.
