Job summary

Interstate Assembly Systems in Surprise, AZ is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair heavy‑duty trucks and equipment in the field. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues, perform welding and fabrication, and ensure safety and uptime for clients in the Phoenix Valley area.

Daily travel to customer sites is required, with a company vehicle, laptop, and cell phone provided.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in heavy‑duty truck/equipment mechanics.
• Repair hydraulic, cranes, welders, air compressors.
• Diesel engines, electrical systems, vehicle diagnostics.
• Welding (MIG/TIG) and fabrication preferred.
• Read manuals, schematics, diagnostic codes.
• Valid driver's license; CDL a plus.
• Independent field work, varied weather conditions.
• Strong problem‑solving and attention to detail.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs; crane/welding certification a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on heavy‑duty trucks and systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic issues.
• Weld/modify truck components as needed.
• Operate and test cranes for safety and function.
• Service air compressors and auxiliary equipment.
• Respond to client service calls in the field promptly.
• Document parts, time, and repair notes.
• Follow OSHA/DOT safety standards.
• Explain repairs and advise on preventative maintenance.
