Job summary

The Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician operates a mobile service vehicle and travels to customer sites to perform in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs. They execute quality work efficiently per guidelines and support the Kirby Smith One Mission, One Team approach.

This role requires basic mechanical knowledge, one year in heavy equipment, and willingness to travel, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer relations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and work weekends as needed.
• Class BCDL preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Communicates Kirby Smith vision and core values in daily work.
• Performs preventative maintenance services on equipment as assigned.
• Plans methods and sequence of performing repairs.
• Keeps rework within established guidelines.
• Notifies the Manager of any additional work required on the unit.
• Completes required paperwork efficiently and timely.
• Attends factory and other training as specified by supervisor.
• Maintains safe work habits and adheres to safety policies.
