Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician for Preventative Maintenance (Field). You will operate a mobile service vehicle to perform in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs at customer sites, ensuring work is completed safely and to specifications.

This role requires a minimum of one year in a heavy equipment setting, basic mechanical skills, and willingness to travel and work overtime. Strong English communication and a valid tool kit are essential; CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and work weekends as needed.
• Class B CDL preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance services on equipment as assigned (e.g., lubrication/greasing and checking fluid levels).
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs.
• Keeps rework within established guidelines.
• Notifies the Manager of any additional work required on the unit.
• Completes required paperwork efficiently and timely.
• Attends factory and other training as specified by supervisor.
• Promotes goodwill and exhibits excellent customer relations with customers, managers, and coworkers.
• Maintains service truck in good working condition and cleanliness.
• Completes daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspections.
• Models safe work habits and abides by company safety policies and procedures.
• Organizes, cleans, and maintains a safe work area.
• Consistent and reliable on-site attendance.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
