Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance (Field) to travel to customer sites and perform in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs on heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and work weekends as needed.
• Class BCDL preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Operates a mobile service vehicle to perform in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Performs maintenance such as lubrication and fluid checks following guidelines.
• Plans methods and sequence of repairs and ensures accuracy of paperwork.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area and vehicle.
• Attends training and promotes good customer relations.
• Ensures on-site attendance and supports company values.
