Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. - Abilene, TX is seeking a Service Technician for Preventative Maintenance (Field) to service customer sites with in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs.

You will operate a mobile service vehicle and perform tasks efficiently according to guidelines. Ideal candidates have at least one year of heavy equipment experience, basic mechanical knowledge, and are fluent in English.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and work weekends as needed.
• Class BCDL preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Operate a mobile service vehicle and perform in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance services on equipment (lubrication/greasing and fluid checks).
• Plan methods and sequence of repairs.
• Keep rework within established guidelines and notify the Manager of additional work.
• Attend factory and other training as specified by supervisor.
• Promote goodwill and maintain excellent customer relations on-site.
• Maintain service truck in good working condition and cleanliness.
• Complete daily, monthly, and annual safety and vehicle inspections.
