Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician - Preventative Maintenance (Field) to travel to customer sites and perform in-field preventative maintenance and minor repairs. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and efficient service delivery.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in heavy equipment, basic mechanical knowledge, English proficiency, and the ability to work overtime, travel, and weekends. Relocation and hands-on training are available.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a heavy equipment environment or related field.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical knowledge.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
• Ability to work overtime, travel overnight, and work weekends as needed.
• Class BCDL preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance services on equipment at customer locations; lubrication, greasing, and fluid checks.
• Plans methods and sequence of performing assigned repairs.
• Notifies the Manager of any additional work required on the unit.
• Maintains safe work habits and adheres to safety policies.
• Organizes, cleans, and maintains a safe work area.
• Consistent and reliable on-site attendance.
