Job summary

DataScan is seeking a Field Risk Specialist in the Gaithersburg area to perform floorplan inventory audits across a defined territory. The role requires traveling to automotive, equipment, and powersports dealerships, verifying inventory, and reconciling records with our mobile audit app.

This field-based position emphasizes accuracy, independent work, and clear communication with dealership personnel and clients.

Qualifications

• Basic computer proficiency is required.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Willingness to travel overnight (5–7 nights per month).
• Physical ability to handle inventory and VIN/serial tasks.
• Must be able to drive long distances as needed.
• High school diploma or GED; college preferred.
• Prior floorplan auditing or related experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with dealership personnel to determine missing inventory status.
• Review dealer records for sold, missing, damaged inventory and off-site collateral.
• Verify MSOs and vehicle titles status.
• Record inventory status and audit findings using a mobile app.
• Document dealership visit details and audit observations.
• Present audit results to dealership personnel in a professional manner.
• Communicate audit results and potential risk exposure to client representatives.
