Job summary

DataScan is seeking a Field Risk Specialist to perform floorplan inventory audits for automotive and related dealerships within a designated territory. This field role requires traveling to dealerships, verifying VINs, reviewing records, and documenting discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory reporting.

You will interact with dealership staff and client representatives, communicate audit results, and assess risk in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college education preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to travel overnight (3–5 nights per month).
• Ability to lift or move inventory boxes and perform physical tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Professional demeanor with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Verify in-stock inventory by inspecting VIN/serial numbers outdoors.
• Meet with dealership personnel to research and determine the status of missing inventory.
• Review dealer records and supporting documentation related to sold, missing, damaged inventory and off-site collateral.
• Verify the status and accuracy of MSOs and vehicle titles.
• Record inventory status and audit results using a mobile device audit app.
• Document dealership visit details and audit observations.
• Communicate audit results clearly to dealership personnel and clients.
