Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing in Missouri seeks a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain client fleets and perform on-site service calls, including inspection, maintenance, and parts handling. You will install with manuals, document work, and support after-hours service when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician.
• CDL and Medical Card required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
• Valid driver license with insurability per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment per company standards.
• Perform basic truck maintenance: fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, inspections.
• Manage inventory control on service truck and vehicle stock.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools for diesel truck maintenance.
• Read job orders and plan work procedures from vehicle observations.
• Use diagnostic equipment and manuals to perform repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, cam shafts, bearings, brakes, transmissions, etc.
• Document diagnostics and repairs in the company computer system.
• Check guards, bolts, safety devices; make adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventive maintenance as requested.
• Submit paperwork accurately to mobile service program.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
• Advise customers on upcoming repairs/services within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
