Job summary

The Wilmington Group is seeking a Full Time Equipment Operator at our Barton, AL facility. You will operate forklift and skid steer equipment, perform pre‑trip inspections, and assist with basic maintenance to keep production moving safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in heavy equipment operation, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work a steady schedule 7:00 AM–3:45 PM, Monday–Friday with longer hours as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar mobile equipment
• Familiarity with heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plus
• Experience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting is strongly preferred
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to load/unload material from trailers and load machinery
• Operate skid steers to move materials and assist in plant housekeeping
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic preventive maintenance
• Document inventory and activity, including quantities and weights
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report mechanical or operational issues
• Adhere to OSHA and company policies and safety guidelines
