Job summary

The Wilmington Group is seeking a Full Time Equipment Operator for our Barton, AL facility. The Equipment Operator will operate forklift and skid steers, perform routine inspections, and assist with maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience in similar equipment, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to learn new mechanical skills on the job. Training and safety emphasis are core to our operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar mobile equipment.
• Experience in heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plus.
• Experience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Operate forklift and skid steer to move materials and load equipment.
• Verify accuracy of materials loaded to standard.
• Document inventory and activity including weights and quantities.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and assist with preventative maintenance.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and report mechanical issues; perform minor repairs.
• Maintain general plant housekeeping.
