Job summary
The Wilmington Group seeks a dedicated Full Time Equipment Operator for our Haw River facility. You will operate equipment including forklift and skid steer, ensuring safe and efficient production and performing routine inspections and basic maintenance.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with heavy equipment, a strong safety mindset, and a team attitude. Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with extended hours as needed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar mobile equipment.
- Familiarity with heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plus.
- Experience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Following all plant safety guidelines and operating equipment to support production.
- Operate forklifts and skid steers to load/unload and move materials.
- Document inventory, weights, and activity; conduct pre/post-trip inspections.
- Perform basic mechanical maintenance and minor repairs; assist with upkeep of equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping and report issues to ensure uptime and safety.
