Job summary

Contech in Pelham, AL is seeking a Large Equipment Operator to support infrastructure projects, including drainage systems, pipe, bridges and stormwater facilities. You will operate forklifts and heavy equipment to move product safely, perform pre/post-shift audits, and maintain 5S standards.

Qualifications

• One year of Manufacturing, production, or distribution experience.
• One year of forklift or crane operation experience.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Certification in forklift operation is preferred.
• Certification on large equipment operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions and schedules from plant supervision.
• Operate Forklift, Front End Loader or Mijack equipment to move product and supplies safely.
• Completes pre-shift daily audit and maintains daily safety checklist.
• Complies with Next Level Quality Assurance Program at all times.
• Operates equipment to empty departments of finished product and move to their locations, and load/unload per Contech’s guide.
• Prepares lumber for dunnage use, operates saws and nail guns.
• Fuels and maintains forklift
• Completes post-shift daily audit and parks equipment in designated area.
• Records production as required.
• Maintains work area and equipment per 5S standards.
• Other duties assigned.
