Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, a leader in the commercial truck industry, seeks an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to service fleets at client sites and deliver on-site maintenance. You will handle diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy trucks, coordinate parts and tools, and respond to after-hours service calls while maintaining safety and quality.

Tenured technicians with certifications (Peterbilt/International/Ford/Hino/Isuzu, Cummins, ASE) and a valid CDL are encouraged to

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections as assigned.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep the vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and associated equipment.
• Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform correct repair procedures.
• Diagnose, remove and replace injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, bearings, pans, clutches, brakes, batteries, transmissions and other parts.
• Perform diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Examine guards, loose bolts, and safety devices and make adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Document and submit paperwork or enter into mobile service program as work performed.
• Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive customer relations.
• Advise customer of repairs to be performed within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply that training on the course of work.
