Job summary

Cox Fleet in Savannah, GA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to medium repairs in a field/mobile setting. You’ll diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, test with diagnostic tools, and document RO findings using TRAIT on an iOS device.

Requires HS diploma/GED with 3–5 years in related field, ASE T8 within 18 months, and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, 3+ years in related field or 5 years in related field.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification to be obtained within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical compliance.
• Valid driver’s license and interstate driving ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium and heavy vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Conduct repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions with handheld tools and on-board diagnostics; road test as needed.
• Manage parts inventory and document repairs using TRAIT and iOS device.
• Ensure safety checks, pre/post-trip inspections and compliance with DOT/OSHA policies.
