Job summary

Cox Fleet in Indianapolis is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to moderate repairs on light, medium, and heavy trucks in a mobile/field setting.

The role requires ASE T8 certification within 18 months, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently with strong safety practices. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' related experience, or 5 years' related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card acceptable in lieu of a physical under certain conditions.
• Must be 21+ and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems in trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Manage parts inventory and document work on Repair Orders.
• Maintain safety checks and complete required DOT paperwork promptly.
