Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-mid repairs in a mobile/field setting. This role requires diligence in diagnostics and adherence to DOT regulations while providing top-tier on-site service to fleets nationwide.

Responsibilities include inspecting and repairing electrical, braking, engine, and hydraulic systems, maintaining the company vehicle and inventory, and documenting work via iOS devices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with related field experience.
• ASE certification preferred or achievable within timeframe.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance knowledge is needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work in a mobile/field setting.
• Physical capability for long periods of standing and lifting.
• Ability to work independently with safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM inspections and DOT inspections on fleet in mobile/field settings.
• Carry out light to heavy repairs and diagnostics with supervision as needed.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Document findings on RO using company devices and upload photos.
• Maintain service truck and tools; manage parts inventory and safety checks.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and updates.
