Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks in a field/mobile setting. You’ll diagnose, adjust, and repair a range of systems, manage parts inventory, and document findings using an iOS device.

The role requires ASE T8 within 18 months, a DOT-compliant background, and a valid driver’s license. Safety and reliability are core values at Cox Fleet.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus related field experience or 5 years in related field.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months; DOT/FMCSA compliance.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT physical.
• Must be able to perform inspections and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on trucks in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on diesel vehicles.
• Test and road-test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and use company-provided service truck and TRAIT app for RO documentation.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain safety checks and daily pre/post-trip inspections of the service vehicle.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and PO numbers.
