Job summary

Avis Budget Group's Budget Truck division seeks a Diesel Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision. You may travel to a vehicle's location and drive Budget trucks on public roads as needed.

Required are a valid CDL, 2 years of heavy-duty repair experience, at least 1 ASE cert, and a complete tool set. On-site role with on-the-job training, benefits, and opportunities to advance ASE credentials.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License Class A, B or C CDL.
• At least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty equipment.
• 1 ASE certification (ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certifications within first year).
• Knowledgeable in ASE-cert areas including Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Brakes, Electrical, etc.
• Must have a complete set of tools for auto repair and maintenance.
• On-site work environment with outdoor conditions.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle physical tasks.
• 21+ years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to obtain DOT medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs, and routine maintenance.
• Assist experienced mechanics with complex repairs.
• Travel to vehicle locations to perform repairs and get vehicles back on road.
• May drive Budget Truck on public roads as needed.
